Today's enterprise "VOJVODINAPROJEKT plc" was established by "Zajednica železnica" on the 28. 06. 1961. as an independent organization called "Železničko projektansko preduzeće".
Their former activity included design and development of projects, studies and construction analysis, conducting experiments and testing in the field of railway construction.
In 1973. "Jugoslovenska železnica" is founded at the state level, so there is no more need for a engineering and design company which would serve only to this purpose. For this reason, "VOJVODINAPROJEKT plc" becomes an independent company.
The present office space (186 m²) which is situated on Kralja Petra I Boulevard No.17, the company occupies in February in 1973. Its new name, which is still in use, receives on 27th March of the same year.
The field of activities of the new company is then being diverted from rail to related markets, and it quickly starts developing projects of civil and hydraulic engineering, in the first period, mainly roads.
At the beginning of 1980's the company is almost entirely engaged in construction of local, main and regional roads. Also, it starts to be active in design of bridges, and at the end of 1970's and at the beginning of 1980's a segment of activities is expanded to design of hydraulic structures - water and sewer systems (pumping stations, units for cleaning of wastewater).
At the time, "VOJVODINAPROJEKT" establishes its own laboratory for geomechanical testing and monitoring of projects, which also serves for testing of materials and production of supporting documents.
It is a building of 80 square meters. For all that time, this company employs high-quality personnel, engineers and planners in these areas.
